Arkansas
We're in Arkansas again. All the trees are green up to about the Red River some most of Arkansas is still bare. Jonquils blooming in southern Arkansas but just beginning to bud up here. The fortieth annual Jonquil Festival is being held in Old Washington, Arkansas. That's in the far southwest near Hope. It was the capitol of Arkansas at one time; perhaps during the Civil War when the Yankees took over all the rest of Arkansas. Well, we won't get to go to the Jonquil Festival since we're way up in the Union part of Arkansas.

The Jonquils blooming in Southern Arkansas sound beautiful...Have you ever seen the annual Jonquil Festival that you mentioned? Have a good vacation, and a Happy Easter if you are still there by then. Andrea

I don't think I had even heard of the Festival until a couple of years ago. I hope we can find out about it sooner next year and maybe we can work it into a trip to see our cousins in Hope.

I haven't even seen my jonquils this year. I think they're hidden under some other plants my son planted for us a few years ago. I think the plants may be Mexican heather or some name like that. They're getting big now, but haven't started blooming.

All the trees are green down on the Gulf Coast where we live; even the Chinese Tallow and sycamore trees. They are the latest to get their leaves.

It was sunny and warm on our drive to far northwest Arkansas. The high was 86. However, today it is cold and grey. The high was about 45.

I'm sure you'll see more signs of spring soon. :)
