Smokey Finds A New Home
Ann and SmokeyWe got a call from our daughter as we drove home last Saturday. A friend of hers had found a cat and they wanted to find someone who would take him. Actually, he had found them. They checked with animal control and took him to a vet to see whether he had an I.D. chip and didn't know what else to do to find the owners. They aren't "cat people" and have dogs.

Smokey had been neutered and his front claws had been removed and he was very gentle. Ann had been wanting a loveable cat to replace her Ginger who died last November and, after all, we only had two. I warned her that it was not going to be a kitten, but we agreed that we would go take a look at him and you can see what happened. He and Baby may eventually become friends, but I'm not sure about Casper.

They both look happy.

I love cats. One day I'll have a few.

What a beautiful cat! It is strange that the owners went through the expense of having it neutered and claws clipped but apparently did not make too much effort to trace their lost cat. I wonder if the cat had traveled many miles away from its original home and if it got away from its owners when they were traveling. It obviously is a very tame cat and used to people. He looks very well adjusted and I am sure he will get used to your other cats when he is there for awhile...Andrea

Good picture!
I would comment on your political "doings," but don't understand enough about them.
Ray has had one cataract removed, and says that things look much brighter out of that eye. He'll probably get the next one removed in a couple of weeks.
The worst part for him may be his chauffeur. But he'll just have to get used to Martha driving him around until he gets a new pair of glasses.
