Smokey Mountains Bus Tour
A group of seniors from church will be leaving early tomorrow morning for eastern Tennessee. We'll tour Gatlinburg and the Smokey Mountains and visit Dollywood. We're scheduled to see several shows there. I guess they're at Dollywood.

We return late next Saturday. It will probably take a few days to rest up although I'm supposed to show up on the job. Then it's off to Arkansas for Decoration Day observances at the family cemeteries. Also, two nephews are graduating from Arkansas Tech and a step-cousin once removed is getting married, so all in all it should be fun!

I LOVE that area - i lived in western NC for many years (Ashville) and it is just beautiful there!

It WAS a beautiful area! The Smokies are great although you can't really experience them from a tour bus.

The Ozarks of Arkansas are much smaller, but still beautiful in a similar way. My great, great grandfather moved through that area in 1852 and I still wonder how people made it through those mountains back then.

Wow! Have a great trip! You should be able to take lots of interesting pictures. Bus rides are fun and I imagine you'll be stopping at some good eating places along the way. You are lucky to be able to set your own hours at your job so that it doesn't interfere with going on your trips. Take care! Andrea

I forgot to take the AC power cord for my laptop, so no online connection for a whole week.

We enjoyed the trip, but Ann started with a cold and I caught it mid-week, so we missed some things.

Also there were several good eating places. Cracker Barrel for one and several others. I missed the free meal at Tony Roma's on Thursday night.

My photos are just so-so.

Yes, I'm lucky that I have a good retirement, plus that part-time work. I told them at the beginning that I'd be taking time off for travel. Except for things planned well in advance, I don't take off when we're really busy.
